far不是动词 ， 没有过去式 ， 只有比较级和最高级 。
farther ， farthest 这个形式的比较级和最高级 ， 只用于形容时间和空间上的遥远；
further ， furthest这个形式一般用于形容程度上的“更深、更进一步” 。
【far的过去式】例如：
The south of England, where prices have fallen furthest, will remain the weakest market价格下跌得最厉害的英格兰南部仍将是最疲软的市场 。
They lacked the scientific personnel to develop the technical apparatus much further.
他们缺少能够进一步研发这一技术装置的科研人员 。
