怎么理解英语中的连接词？
连词是一种虚词 。虚词不是说它没意义，而是说它不独立充当成分 。除了连词，你还知道哪些虚词？Fragrant the rose is，but it fades in time.花儿虽香，但难长久 。but便是一个连词 。这个句子还是个倒装句，把fragrant提前了 。根据其作用，连词分两类，并列连词和从属连词 。
其中，并列连词表示并列关系，包括并列句，而从属连词引导名词性从句和状语从句 。复合句除了名词性从句和状语从句就是定语从句了 。看来定语从句和从属连词是无关的，那么哪种词引导的定语从句呢？关系代词和关系副词 。并列连词1. 并列关系表并列关系的连词主要有：and, both...and, not only but also, neither nor等 。
Tony and Jenny are playing chess. 托尼和杰西在玩象棋 。主语并列Everyone has a good side and a bad side. 每个人都有好的一面也有坏的一面 。宾语并列I like painting and I will devote my life into it. 我喜欢画画，并且我会献身于画画 。
两个句子并列She is not only beautiful but also intelligent. 她不单漂亮而且聪明 。2. 转折关系最主要的连词是but，还有while，yet等 。He failed, but did not give up.他失败了，但是没放弃 。She eats much, yet she is not fat. 她吃很多，却不胖 。
While you and your sister are tall, your brother is short. 虽然你和你姐姐都高，你弟弟却矮 。3. 选择关系这类连词有or，either or等 。Who do you like better, me or her?你更喜欢谁，我还是她？You can either take a taxi or the metro to the airport. 你可以打的或乘地铁去机场 。
4. 因果关系，这类连词有so，therefore等 。I had a good sleep, so I am energetic now. 我睡了个好觉，所以现在精力充沛 。She is only there, and therefore not old enough to go to school. 她才三岁，所以太小不能去上学 。
从属连词从属连词是名词性从句和状语从句的引导词 。如果你掌握了这些从句，你会发现，原来这些也被归为连词呀 。1. 名词性从句主要是that，还有what，whether等 。That you won the game makes us happy. 你赢了比赛这件事让我们高兴 。主语从句I know (that) you are lying. 我知道你在撒谎 。
