#1 伊斯坦布尔不是首都

土耳其的首都是安卡拉 Ankara
伊斯坦布尔现在是土耳其最大的城市，也是最大的旅游目的地，同时也是这里历史上最重要的一个城市，因为它就是东罗马帝国的都城——君士坦丁堡 Constantinople

许多不熟悉这个国家的外国人都以为伊斯坦布尔是土耳其的首都。但事实并非如此。它是土耳其最大的城市，但土耳其的首都是安卡拉。

A lot of foreigners who aren’t familiar with the country thinks that Istanbul is the Turkish capital. But that’s actually not the case. It’s the biggest city in Turkey, but the capital is Ankara.

#2 咸的酸奶你喝过吗？

土耳其的酸奶默认是咸的，加盐。
不光有基本款的咸酸奶，还有加各种料的咸酸奶，比如加蒜蓉、辣椒油、橄榄油的酸辣酸奶，直接就是一道菜。

其实他们也吃甜酸奶，常见的吃法是加蜂蜜。
另外，酸奶在土耳其除了是饮料，还被广泛用来做蘸料，也是烹饪的重要原料。
酸奶无疑是土耳其的国民食品，因此它一定会出现在各种土耳其美食指南上。酸奶可以作为蘸料、酱汁甚至饮料，它无处不在，形式多样。你点任何一种mezze来品尝酸奶都没有问题，但是它最好的食用方式是只加点蜂蜜，或加盐饮用。

Yogurt is easily the national food item of Turkey, and thus it has to be on any Turkish food guide worth its salt. Yogurt is served as a dip, a sauce, or even as a drink – it is everywhere and in all forms. You’ll have no problem sampling some if you order any variety of mezze, but the best way to consume it is either in its pure form with a little honey, or as a drink served with salt.

You might find chicken in your dessert. The signature Ottoman treat is tavuk g??sü, or chicken breast pudding. It’s a strange blend of boiled chicken, milk, and sugar, dusted with cinnamon. And it’s delicious. Look for it on menus across the country.
